The Biden Years. From the San Francisco System to the Quad Plus

The election of Joe BidenBiden, Joe as USAmerica/US President in 2020 was expected to be a ‘return to normal’ in US politics, a move away from TrumpTrump, Donald’s controversies and conflictual approach to politics. In some ways BidenBiden, Joe did change the approach, switching back to a more accepting view of multilateralismmultilateralism, and a more accommodating stance with US allies. What did not change was the fact that the US and ChinaChina were competing with each other. This chapter is structured as follows: a first section looks at how the differences between Trump and Biden concerning China are mostly differences of style, not practice.
