Cell Migration in Development
摘要
This chapter gives you a general overview on the pivotal role of cell migration during developmental morphogenesis. It highlights general mechanisms and molecular regulation pathways that are evolutionarily conserved throughout the animal kingdom. Representative developmental processes are to explain general migrational processes, for example epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) or the role of proteins of the family of RhoGTPases for migration. It aims to help the reader to gain an insight into the complexity researchers face when studying migration during developmental processes and wants to draw attention on how studying developmental cell migration might help researchers to better understand cell migration during disease or regeneration.
