Mathematical and Computational Modelling of Immune Cell Responses in Cell Migration
摘要
Cell migration is a fundamental mechanism in all living organisms, including plants and animals. It is essential for embryogenesis, tissue morphogenesis, and human health, but also plays an important role in the development and promotion of diseases. The focus of this chapter is on immune cell responses in human cell migration and the way we use mathematical and computational models to investigate and understand immune cell migratory activities. We will examine the migratory strategies used by immune cells to perform their functions and how these aid in defense mechanisms against pathogens and diseases focusing on one of the deadliest diseases, cancer.
