A Case Revisited: Evidence for Prospective Intertextuality
摘要
This chapter revisits a previous corpus that was originally available in Yildiz (2021) “In Search of Patient Zero: Pseudo-Retranslation in Turkish Academic Works”. At that time, the most recent work in the corpus using pseudo-retranslation was dated 2018. Drawing on the retrospective intertextual track of the pseudo-retranslations identified in that study—always relatively recent works—and based on the behavioural patterns of pseudo-retranslators, it is hypothesised in this chapter that pseudo-retranslations tend to offer the prospect of intertextual connections with texts yet to be produced. The present corpus tests this hypothesis by introducing into the old corpus four new post-2018 works along with four others predating 2018.
