Enhancing Inclusivity: Exploring AI Applications for Diverse Learners

摘要

Inclusive education seeks to provide equal educational opportunities for all students, including individuals with disabilities. However, there are several challenges associated with it today, for example, limited access to resources, lack of teacher training, inadequate assessment, etc. Artificial Intelligence (AI) can play a crucial role in creating inclusive learning environments and educational tools that accommodate the diverse needs of students with different physical and intellectual abilities. This chapter will focus on how AI technologies impact learning experiences among students with different needs. It will further explore how AI can facilitate the participation of students with disabilities, helping both students and teachers identify areas where additional support is needed. AI-based systems can detect students with diverse emotional needs by analyzing student data (academic scores, behavior patterns, concentration level, attention span, hearing and visual abilities, facial gestures, and tone) and using algorithms, providing an important tool for early identification and support for these students. The aim is to examine the potential of AI to address the challenges faced by diverse learners and to promote inclusive and accessible education practices. The ethical considerations and implications of integrating AI in educational settings will also be discussed.
