摘要

When edentulous patients have problems with their complete dentures, implant overdenture becomes the right treatment choice since it provides more retention, support, and stability. Furthermore, IOD (implant overdenture) treatment which was supported by two or four implants is a preferred and reliable treatment method because of economical reasons. In the second chapter of this book, types of implant overdentures, classification of IOD movements, rigid and resilient concepts, number and position of the implants used in mandibular implant overdentures, IOD classification according to implant positions, implant biomechanics, points to be considered in IOD in the mandible and maxilla, and types and principles of implant occlusion were discussed in details.
