Automated Method of Sorting Municipal Solid Waste

The article is devoted to the problem of waste management, in particular solid municipal waste. One of the most important problems in waste management is the task of sorting. The effectiveness of the generalizing concept of waste management depends to a greater extent on the efficiency and cost of this technological operation. Assessed by such indicators as the productivity of the enterprise, the depth of sorting and recycling of waste, economic efficiency, safety and comfort of work. Among the most important problems of municipal solid waste recycling enterprises is the task of choosing a rational way to sort waste according to the degree of automation and technological equipment. The article discusses some trends in the creation of systems and methods for sorting municipal solid waste. The concept of using a human operator performing the functions of a system for recognizing and identifying sorted objects is described. Some variants of sorting lines are given with an assessment of sorting methods, according to the factor of their rational application. Options for improving automated sorting lines are proposed, taking into account the economic efficiency of a rational method for recognizing sorting objects. The expediency of using combined sorting methods using manual and machine sorting methods is substantiated. It is proposed to use robotic sorting lines with human participation in the recognition of sorting objects. The materials of the article are intended for specialists dealing with waste management problems.
