Finding Resolution and Efficiency for Multiple Gamma Energies for LYSO(Ce), CaF2(Eu), and NE102A Crystals Using SiPM

In this experiment, we aimed to determine the resolution and efficiency of a detection system consisting of a SiPM board and three types of scintillation crystals (CaF2, LYSO, and NE102A). Four different sources (Am-241, Ba-133, Cs-137, and Co-60) were studied. The resolution results varied across the different crystals and sources tested. For example, the resolution for CaF2 with Am-241 was 113.14% and with Cs-137 was 36.78%. LYSO showed resolutions ranging from 35.58% to 91.52% for different sources. The NE102A plastic scintillator crystal had a resolution of 37.5% with Am-241. Additionally, absolute efficiency calculations were performed for each source and crystal. For CaF2, the absolute efficiency for Am-241 and Cs-137 was 2.76E-03% and 2.15E-04% respectively. LYSO had absolute efficiency values of 0.104% and 0.013% for Am-241 and Cs-137 (662 keV) respectively. The NE102A plastic scintillator crystal had an absolute efficiency of 1.62E-03% with Am-241.
