SISTB: A Health Information System for the Management of Tuberculosis Cases
摘要
This study describes the System for Tuberculosis Control - SISTB, a health information system designed to manage TB cases. Tuberculosis remains a major worldwide health challenge, necessitating excellent data management and collaboration to provide effective patient care and disease control. SISTB satisfies these imperatives by delivering a platform with many helpful features, including treatment follow-up and daily supervision of medication intake. The essential elements of the system are a web-based application and web services to enable communication with external systems. In addition, the SISTB system has a Semantic API that extracts contextualized data from web pages using semantic annotations. Sensitive health information is protected by a robust security layer that includes authentication, authorization, data integrity checks, and hybrid cryptography. This work emphasizes SISTB’s ability to integrate external data via its middleware engine and highlights the potential to improve data-driven activities, expedite patient care, and contribute to more successful tuberculosis control activities, focusing on enhancing TB case management.
