Statistical Models to Predict Educational Outcomes in Academic Transitions
摘要
The aim is to capture the differences in students’ performances among bachelor’s and single-cycle degrees by using regression models. The data used for the analysis refer to students who enrolled at 3-year and 5-year degrees in an Italian university in the South of Italy from 2010–2011 to 2021–2022. Students’ performance is measured by counting the number of ECTS credits earned during the first year of study. Hence, the main purposes are to i) estimate the probability of getting at least a certain number of credits at the end of the first year, and ii) identify which students’ features might affect it.
