Among the main consequences of the rapid growth of available data proper of the data deluge era, a major one is a significant diversification of primary data sources. This has determined a change of the traditional paradigm of a unique main source of data coming from an ad hoc statistical data collection process, to a multi-source world where data from sources with different characteristics have to combined together.
