Statisticians are able to analyse data that are relevant to ecological and environmental research and that may help society address these challenges by developing increasingly complex methodology and models – as new technologies and new challenges arise. In this talk, we will explain that as statisticians we should not only see these societal challenges as opportunities for us to develop new methodology and publish papers in statistical journals, but also be aware of the responsibility we have towards society to use our skills to help resolve these issues.

摘要

Statisticians are able to analyse data that are relevant to ecological and environmental research and that may help society address these challenges by developing increasingly complex methodology and models – as new technologies and new challenges arise.
