Analysis of Solar Energy Potential Based on Slope Angle Using PV-SYST 7.2.6 at the University of Pamulang—South Tangerang

The need for electrical energy always increases every year. Sources of electrical energy can be generated from various types of generators. Electrical energy can also be generated from renewable energy, one of which is sunlight. Indonesia is a tropical country located on the equator; the potential for solar energy produced in an area is influenced by the movement of the sun and depends on atmospheric conditions in that year. The Pamulang University Viktor building has a large rooftop area and can be used as a source of renewable electrical energy, namely the sunlight-powered plant (PLTS) with the availability of a large rooftop area. Energy from the sun is contained in Pamulang University Viktor using the PV-Syst 7.2.6 software through simulations using various variations of tilt angle experiments. Simulation experiments were carried out with angles of 6°, 12°, 18°, 24°, 30°, and 36° facing north, azimuth = 0°; this is adjusted to the latitude of the sun’s position at that location. Based on the simulation results that have been carried out using the slope angle, it can be said that all of them are good because the average results of the energy produced are sufficient for the required energy. As for the six simulations of slope angle variations that have been carried out, the best simulation results are obtained by setting a slope angle of 12° facing north, azimuth = 0°, with the simulation results obtained the total amount of solar energy is 146,974 kWh in a year.
