Finite Element Analysis of a Bulk Vessel: A Comprehensive Study

摘要

The marine construction sector is currently undergoing substantial expansion, driven by a focus on enhancing production efficiency and generating higher revenues through the integration of advanced technologies. To align with this advancement, it is crucial to establish cost-effective production objectives for critical aspects of ship and vessel manufacturing and management. However, there exists a knowledge gap, particularly concerning the mechanical damage behavior of marine structures, especially within structural analysis. To bridge this disparity, the study aims to furnish precise data simulations and output results pertaining to the structural analysis behavior and performance. The research will employ finite element analysis (FEA) formulations tailored for plate and shell structures, specifically utilizing the first-order shear deformation theory. The validation process will encompass various locations, considering both the extent and size of damage, relative to marine structures. To replicate the model experimentally in a real marine setting, hydrodynamic measurements will be conducted, alongside the introduction of a newly devised damage parameter and the utilization of von Mises strain distribution in FEA.
