摘要

The performance of the generator set is significantly impacted by damage to the rod bearing components. On cylinder number 10, which was discolored in the shank area, is where the damage to the connecting rod of the type 3516 diesel engine first manifested itself. The condition is normal after inspection of the pin-end and crank-end regions. The rod bearing's state or the road's metal, meanwhile, received a minor scratch. The research's suggested remedy is to examine the diesel engine's oil. Based on engine oil testing, the goal of this study is to identify the primary factor that led to the connecting rod bearing's failure. Engine oil testing is the procedure used in the research on rod bearing analysis. The quality of the oil used in the 3516 B series diesel engine degraded, according to the analysis of the lubrication system data from this investigation. Increased levels of Fe (30 ppm), Pb (13 ppm), oxidation, and sulfation in engine oil are signs of this. The examination of engine oil has led researchers to the conclusion that deteriorated oil performs worse. Given that the indicated viscosity value limit is + 3 cSt, there may be signs that an engine issue is present. At 100 C, the viscosity fluctuated by ± 2 and ± 3 cSt, respectively.
