What Are Dreams?

Dreams have been studied along with human history and given different interpretations. Some of the ideas are reviewed in this section. They should not be treated as if they are manuals for wisdom. Instead, dreams can be seen as a kind of internal communication that, through feelings and images, transfers information between our unconscious and conscious selves. The dream images are full of symbols and metaphors, i.e., a representation of something else, and can be given many interpretations.
