The book's third part extends the discussion about the need to connect science and art as inspiration for behavior change. Here, Pandora's Box is opened as an illustration of destruction and relates to goals supporting global progress and related anti-goals that lead to societal deterioration. The alternative is the Box of Opportunity, which, when opened instead, gives us a flow of curiosity, vision, courage, hope, presence, simplicity, and inspiration, which has a great potential for change when humans learn to cooperate and listen to each other. The third part takes the reader through inspirations from ocean voices, humans’ impacts on coastal seas, philosophy, why we should care, literature, and storytelling. The aim is to illustrate that a fundamentally new way of thinking is possible, where humans and the ocean are united in a new relationship that guarantees vitality and progress.
