The Colored Contact Lenses

Color tinted contact lenses have been around for many years and as technology has advanced, their quality has improved dramatically. However, the color change is not very satisfactory and does not look natural. This is especially true in people with dark color irides. Although, it is the safest and the most practical way to temporarily change the color of the eyes. There are also many limitations on using color tinted contact lenses. For instance, many people are unable to tolerate contact lenses for various reasons, including pre-existing conditions, such as eye allergic conjunctivitis, dry eyes, Blepharitis, uveitis, etc. Recently the specific dyed contact lenses with wavelength filtering ability have been introduced for the management of color vision deficiency. In this chapter we will discuss the negative and positive aspects of the color tinted contact lenses.
