Chemicals and Small Molecules for Iris Color Modification

Using eye drops seems to be the most convenient way to alter the iris pigmentation and as a result changing the color of the eye. However, it is a very challenging process due to many factors involved, including the complex process of melanogenesis, the length of time in preliminary studies, and the lack of interest for financial support for the preliminary studies. The Theoretical methods and systems that are described here are for effective modalities for sustainable change in the pigment melanin content of melanocytes of the iris surface and stroma. Also, we will discuss the compositions for “lightening” or “darkening” of the pigmented iris tissues or treating a pigmented iris tissue disease. In this chapter we will discuss the possible small molecules and chemicals candidate for this task.
