Structure of the Iris

This chapter has been modified from our previous published book “The Iris, Understanding the Essentials” due to the fact that anatomical and histological information has been well established by now and is not changing significantly, and it is essential information for this book. The anatomy and histology of iris is considered to be very specific and unique and varies significantly in different individuals according to their inheritance. The cellular composition and distribution in the iris tissue varies according to the iris color. This deviation from norm is very unusual for human organs and is the specific characteristic of iris, which is unique, and also very different compared to other organs.
