The amount of energy consumed in industrial sector has a considerable amount of effect on total energy demand. The industrial sector uses electricity for operating industrial machinery/motors, computers, lights, etc. It also uses equipment for facility heating, cooling, and ventilation. Hence, it consumes both electrical and heating and cooling related energy. This chapter focuses on policies used for improving energy efficiency in industrial sector. The policy types discussed within the scope of this chapter are as follows; regulations and standards, incentives, agreements, reporting and benchmarking, and technical assistance.
