Effects of Plant Secondary Metabolites on Cardiovascular Diseases Through Non-coding RNAs

Cardiovascular diseases, which are the cause of most of the deaths in the world, define the general diseases of the heart and blood vessels. Therefore, considerable efforts are being undertaken to understand the biological processes and molecular mechanisms involved in the development of cardiovascular diseases to enable their development into therapeutic applications. Whilst the development of abnormalities in cardiovascular tissues cannot be explained by a single cell type or a single molecular regulation, these abnormalities can be characterized by complications that develop over a long period of time through cross-talk of various molecular modulators and biomolecules between heterogeneous cell groups of the tissue. In addition to these intrinsic regulations, extrinsic regulations such as nutrition are also critical for dysfunctions in cardiac tissues. To overcome these dysfunctions, which are caused by the involvement of a wide range of intrinsic and extrinsic factors, it may be worthwhile to develop approaches in which all these factors are considered comprehensively. This chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of the role of extrinsic plantSecondary metabolite (SM) secondary metabolitesMetabolite in regulating cardiovascular tissues. The analysis considers the effects of dietary plant secondary metabolitesPlant secondary metabolite (PSM) and non-coding RNAsRNA, which have been found to play a critical role in cardiovascular regulation at the molecular level in recent years.
