This comprehensive review examines the intricate anatomical foundations and physiological processes involved in erectile function and urinary continence. It explores the complex vascular system, including the arterial inflow and venous outflow pathways, as well as the specialized erectile tissues within the penis, which form the anatomical basis of erectile function. The review further delves into the delicate balance of vasoconstriction and vasodilation, mediated by neurotransmitters, hormones, and the autonomic nervous system, that underlies the physiology of erection. In terms of urinary continence, the review highlights the integration of muscular, neural, and anatomical components, focusing on the anatomy of the urinary system. It also examines the neural pathways responsible for regulating continence and discusses the role of pelvic floor muscles and their interaction with the nervous system in maintaining urinary continence.
