Conclusions and Outlook to Other Media

This chapter rounds the book off with a summary of its main results, but it also briefly considers the travel representation of Victorian periodicals in relation to more recent mediascapes. As a medium of daily life, Victorian periodicals anticipated the broadcast media of the twentieth century and the social media of the twenty-first century. The chapter points out similarities and continuities in the mediation of travel from the Victorian era to the present.
