In this paper, an analysis is presented on the pros and cons of ChatGPT, a state-of-the-art technology that utilizes deep learning techniques to produce human-like responses in the education context. To conduct this analysis, the paper includes a comprehensive review of relevant studies and articles on the use of ChatGPT in education. Additionally, the paper presents an experimental model for automatic question generation that focuses on functional English sentence structure analysis. The proposed model’s performance is evaluated and compared to ChatGPT 3.5, with the results showing that the proposed model outperforms ChatGPT in this specific area. The paper also examines the opportunities and concerns of using ChatGPT in education, emphasizing the importance of refining prompts and verifying the accuracy of generated responses. Despite the potential benefits of ChatGPT in enhancing learning outcomes, the paper notes some limitations and issues that must be considered. These include overreliance on technology, natural language processing limitations, and concerns about the accuracy and reliability of ChatGPT-generated responses. In conclusion, the paper calls for further research to optimize the use of ChatGPT in education and assess its effectiveness in specific educational contexts.
