UV Filters in sunscreens for photoprotection
摘要
The active components of sunscreen products, UV filters, provide photoprotection by reflecting, scattering, and/or absorbing UV radiation. The most commonly used UV filters in sunscreens are either inorganic (physical) or organic (chemical) in nature. This chapter focuses on the properties, modes of operation, and the advantages and disadvantages of different UV filters. The characteristics of the two most widely used inorganic UV filters, ZnO and TiO2, are also discussed in this chapter.
