Vision of Intelligent Processes from a Scientific Production Analysis
摘要
The hybridization of physical and digital worlds and real-time information processing for informed decision-making represents a significant competitive advantage. There are multiple aspects to define an intelligent process in the business environment, which is why it is interesting to describe the evolution and trends in the field of intelligent processes in the industry. To achieve this objective, an exploratory-descriptive study with a retrospective design is proposed, covering the period 1982–2023. The units of study were the original materials published in the Scopus database that included the selected keywords for the research. Bibliometrix and VOSviewer resources were used for the analysis of indicators and bibliometric laws. The results showed that it is a novel field in a stage of exponential growth according to Price’s Law. Among the main lines of productivity identified are the use of disruptive digital technologies, manufacturing and industrial engineering, the application of business intelligence, and strategic decision-making in the context of competition and industry analysis. The main limitation of the study is that only the Scopus database was consulted.
