Using CAD/CAE Systems and NSGA-II Algorithm to Optimize the Design of a Solar Desalination Plant
摘要
In the present work, multi-objective optimization is applied to the design of a solar desalination system using the NSGA-II algorithm. It takes the previously optimized solutions as a reference in a first optimization step. The algorithm generates values of the variables that directly affect the CAD/CAE design to complete the design process. The specific corrections and adaptations necessary to improve the performance of the system, mainly by reducing its losses, are considered in the phase addressed in this work. A methodology has been obtained based on equations that model heat losses and pressure drops; as well as their relationship with the geometry and characteristics of the main components of this type of systems. The results show that the designer can generate optimal solutions by using the NSGA II algorithm in conjunction with CAD/CAE systems. These solutions can be simulated by the CAE system. This anticipates aspects that need to be corrected before the physical prototypes are built. The design of these solar desalination systems is improved by this methodology.
