Procedure to Determine the Hydraulic Resistance Force in a Shock Absorber

In this work are exposed a six stages procedure to determine the hydraulic resistance force in a shock absorber. First, the CFD steady study to obtain the parameters at the beginning of the compression was made. After A CFD parametric study was realized, where the variable parameters were the pressure exerted by the piston and the displacement of this part. The geometric model was drawn in the SolidWorks 2016 software and for the CFD simulations, the complement SolidWorks Flow Simulation was used. An equation and a graph that relates the hydraulic resistance force and the piston displacement was obtained. The results shows that the hydraulic force increase with the decrease in volume inside the cylinder.
