Right Ventricle Function Evaluation in Patients with Implanted Devices

  • Despina-Manuela Toader

摘要

Right ventricle dysfunction is a strong and independent predictor of mortality and morbidity in patients with implanted devices. It is critical to use adequate echocardiographic methods for right ventricle echocardiographic evaluation after device implantation. Clinical trials targeting the cardiac resynchronization therapy effect on heart failure have principally focused on left ventricle evaluation. Some studies revealed that this therapy might produce reverse remodelling of the right ventricle. Few data are available for right function evaluation in this group of patients. The right ventricle has a complex geometry, and evaluating cardiac resynchronization therapy effects on its performance may be challenging.
