Leviathans and Lightning Wielders

The principal focus of this chapter is on the nature of unusually large tropical and temperate zone freshwater animals, including hippos, crocodiles and alligators, snakes, turtles, salamanders, frogs, big fishes, and giant crayfishes. Also included is the capacity of some mostly tropical fishes (but also the platypus) to generate electricity for hunting, defense, and communication.
