Wetlands, Bogs, and Some Other Bizarre Habitats
摘要
The nature of and threats to small and large lentic habitats are discussed in this chapter, including, for example, more permanent acidic bogs (and “bog people”), thermal pools, salt lakes, and the huge Pantanal of South America, as well as ephemeral systems like playas and elephant wallows. Both the nature of these systems and selective residents are described.
