摘要

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a multifaceted autoimmune condition marked by continuous inflammation in the joints, resulting in pain, disability, and systemic complications. In recent decades, proteomic technologies have emerged as potent tools for unraveling the intricate molecular mechanisms underlying RA pathogenesis. This comprehensive chapter first delves into the general aspects of RA severity and major proinflammatory mediators/proteins involved in RA pathogenesis. It further navigates the expanding field of pharmacoproteomics in RA, emphasizing the utility of proteomic techniques in uncovering protein biomarkers for diagnosing the disease, evaluating treatment responses of various anti-RA drugs, identifying mechanisms of actions of various drugs, and discovering novel therapeutic targets. Lastly, the chapter provides valuable suggestions to improve pharmacoproteomics research to mitigate the progression of RA.
