The Teachers at East Gate School

This chapter gives the reader a chance to meet the rural English teachers at my field school. You can feel their concerns, struggles, and aspirations. Under the pressure of curriculum reform, some teachers feel lost and helpless, some try to adapt the best they can, and some demonstrate their own unique strengths about being an English teacher. This suggests that teacher individuality should be considered in teacher development programs for TBLT.
