Human Agency: The Capacity to Implement Curriculum Innovation

This chapter examines teacher learning and development from the perspective of human agency, especially teacher efficacy. It argues that teacher development programs for TBLT should give learning back to teachers by exploring and fostering their agency. Information-transmission in teacher education, like knowledge-transmission in traditional language teaching approaches, may not be as effective as we assume.
