Evolution of ESG and Corporate Performance in Health Care
摘要
A growing pressure is being put on companies to improve their sustainability activities and plans, as stakeholders are becoming more attentive to ESG practices and impacts. European public companies listed in the Euro STOXX 600 belonging to the health care industry have enhanced their ESG profiles and showed financial resilience to the COVID-19 pandemic. The implementation of the EU Directive 2014/95/EU had minimal impact on the ESG profile of the companies examined, indicating that they had already adjusted to forthcoming regulatory requirements because of the inherent importance of sustainability issues within their sector. This positive performance underscores the essential nature of health care services and suggests that the rapid adoption of digital health technologies may have improved operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness for health care companies.
