This chapter explores the multifaceted realm of impact assessment within the context of Community University Engagement (CUE) programs. It begins with an introduction discussing the significance of impact evaluation, the effectiveness and implications of interventions. The subsequent section delves into various approaches employed for impact assessment, elucidating their distinct methodologies and rationales. Furthermore, the chapter examines the intersection between impact evaluation and Community University Engagement (CUE) programs, highlighting their symbiotic relationship and the unique considerations entailed therein. A comprehensive overview of methods for impact assessment is provided, encompassing diverse techniques ranging from quantitative to qualitative methodologies. The subsequent section categorizes various types of impact assessment methodologies, offering insights into their respective strengths and applications. Additionally, the chapter presents case studies exemplifying the practical application of impact assessment methodologies within the ambit of CUE programs. These case studies include the Green Campus Initiative at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, the Waste Management Campaign at Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, the Renewable Energy Project at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, the Urban Gardening Initiative at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, as well as Yale University’s Environmental Stewardship Program and Stanford University’s Sustainable Campus Initiative.
