Indirect, abnormal (restricted) motion signs, such as degenerative sclerotic lining, marginal osteophytes, subchondral cysts, and thinning of the joint space at the radiocarpal joint are obvious. On standard views, suspected or unsuspected degenerative changes become clear on MRI—especially the extent—at unusual carpal locations. In general, too little attention is paid the TP joint. (Isolated) degenerative changes are frequently discovered as such, eventually with secondary degenerative (osteo)chondromatosis.
