摘要

We explored expansion of the virtual agent’s sensory capabilities. A mine simulation required hazard detection and exposure accumulation. A sense of hearing required sound simulation in a cluttered environment. Our agents “hear” sound signals distorted and attenuated by obstacles, including other virtual humans. When they received a sound they tried to identify its type and direction.
