Contaminated or untreated water is considered as unsafe for human which forces to several health risks. A significant percentage of world’s population is still unable to access to safe drinking and sanitation water. Thus, there is a vital necessity for water purification, and in this regard, the corn cob water purifier is essentially made for the purification of contaminated water in rural areas. The purifier treats the contaminated water using corn cob and activated corn cob and the treated water can be reused for applications such as washing, irrigation, etc. The structure of water filtration technique includes different levels of filtration using corn cobs, grinded corn cobs, charcoal, geotextile cloth, and gravel. The structure is arranged layer by layer for absorbing mainly solid, suspended particles in wastewater. The testing of sample water after the treatment process has a 30% reduction in BOD and 30.56% reduction in COD. The pH value reduced from the initial value of 8.1 to the final value of 6.8. Turbidity of treated water was reduced by 54.17%.
