Anorectal Abscess
摘要
Anorectal abscess is an infection that most commonly results from an obstructed anal gland. The location of the infection designates the various types, which includes perianal, ischiorectal (ischioanal), submucosal, intersphincteric, and supralevator. The first step in treatment is sepsis control, which requires incision and drainage. Depending on the severity of patient presentation and tolerability, this surgical drainage is done either at bedside or in the operating room.
