摘要

Meckel diverticulum, a remnant of the vitelline duct, is the most common congenital anomaly of the gastrointestinal tract and, though asymptomatic for many patients, continues to be a pathology encountered by pediatric and adult surgeons alike. Patients may present with pain, bowel obstruction, or gastrointestinal bleeding, which may require operative intervention for diverticulectomy or bowel resection. In this chapter, we will further discuss the most common presentations, phases of management, and common complications of Meckel diverticulum.
