Microbial-Based Recovery of Metals from E-Waste
摘要
E-waste, often known as electrical and electronic garbage, is a growing issue in both developed and developing countries. Our fascination with electrical and electronic equipment, our insatiable thirst for the newest gadgets, and the rapid advancements in technology have led to the production of enormous amounts of e-waste on a global scale. This trash includes valuable and environmentally hazardous materials. The presence of heavy metals in e-waste presents alarming possibilities. On recycling e-waste, various studies and research have been conducted. In addition, recovering heavy and precious metals from different types of e-waste appears to be cost-effective. The development of technology to recycle or remove metals from this E-waste is therefore urgently needed. The exploration and extensive information on microorganism-based technology for the extraction of basic and precious metals from e-waste is provided in this chapter.
