Seaweeds as Potential Source of Bioactive Compounds
摘要
Over the past three decades, there has been a significant increase in the finding of metabolites and biological activity from macroalgae. Even though there are many sophisticated methods for synthesizing chemicals available today, many naturally occurring bioactive substances are still unknown and exist in nature’s womb. Researchers are still looking for more substances that are physiologically active. As they attempt to create novel medications, academics, and pharmaceutical corporations are focusing more and more on the bioactive substances present in seaweeds. Due to its bioactive phenomena and various advantageous properties such as those that are antiviral, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and anti-lipedemic seaweeds are attracting the majority of scientific interest. This review’s main subjects included substances such as metabolites and different kinds of seaweed and their properties. The primary focus of this chapter is given to key metabolites and properties of seaweeds.
