摘要

More than 10 years ago, the science of bioinformatics arose as a tool to aid in biological discoveries. The Human Genome Project (HGP) has led to an incredible and remarkable growth of biological data. The use of computational and analytical tools for the collection and interpretation of biological data is known as bioinformatics. The use of bioinformatics techniques to the discovery of host-pathogen interactions, links between disease outcomes and microbiome dynamics, and associations between bacterial sequence variation and clinical outcomes. Software applications like BLAST and Ensembl, which rely on internet access, are part of the bioinformatics toolset. To help researchers choose the right tools for their microbiome studies, we have compiled a list of the current bioinformatics tools for metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data analysis. The tasks of bioinformatics are described here, and in the interim, its Web tools and resources are explored, along with its applications in microbiology and its relevance to other disciplines. When different bioinformatics tools are used in biological research, results can be stored, retrieved, analyzed, annotated, and visualized, which improves our understanding of biological systems as a whole.
