Supporting Women’s Ways Forward

In this chapter, based on interviews with formerly incarcerated women and service providers, I explore potential policy, service, and practice changes to bolster desistence journeys. Recommendations include a hybrid halfway house model, re-framing harm reduction, ensuring criminalized women have services tailored to their unique needs and means to address stigma within existing services.
