Quadratic Residues and Congruences

After the introduction of the Legendre’s symbol and Euler’s criterion, the law of quadratic reciprocity is proved using Gauss’ lemma. There is a detailed explanation of how to solve a quadratic congruence, including the Tonelli–Shanks algorithm and the accompanying pseudo codes.
