Geomorphic Features of the World’s Smallest Economies

Chapter 6 examines the topography of the world’s smallest economies, them categorizing into mountainous, highland, or lowland countries. The objective was to identify the world's smallest economies with the most favorable topography, which facilitates the development of sectors that are most dependent on it, including agriculture, land transport, construction, hydropower production, and tourism. Additionally, the disadvantages faced by the world’s smallest economies with the least favorable topography were outlined. While the mountains in many of them serve as tourist attractions, the extraction of raw materials contained in them is completely unprofitable due to the high associated costs.
