Lithium Metal and Beyond: When Lithium Metal Dies

Lithium metal is considered as one of the most attractive anode (negative electrode) materials for Li metal batteries due to its ultrahigh theoretical specific capacity (3860 mAh/g) and lowest negative electrochemical potential (− 3.040 V vs. standard H2/H+ electrode). The chapter shows all the possible chemical and electrochemical reactions which occur at lithium metal surface.
