Slagging of MgO

In 1970, Langhammer and Geck (Arch Eisenhüttenwesen 41:1081–1091, 1970 [1]) published much noted experiments conducted gravimetrically on the slagging of MgOSlagging of MgO. According to these, the decay and the chemical dissolution of the refractory material play a reciprocal role. This interpretation was made qualitatively on the basis of microstructural examinations.
